A secular name (or a secular vision) has its own problems: if asked by your non-Muslim friends, secular colleagues or the investigating agencies why there are only Muslims in the "secular" group, what shall we reply? If we make some muslim-bashers as members, to depict ourselves as "secular", the question will be why only a few such members? Why are we discriminating against non-muslims? To show that we are "secular", the few "secular" members that we keep will most probably act as spies for the agencies muslim-bashers. I believe that when fear dominates over our hearts and mind, it's better to keep away, rather than cheat ourselves. Will Allah love cheaters? If calling ourselves "secular" and working only for Muslims is not cheating what else is? Punishment from Allah will most probably come in the form of failure, if we indulge in cheating. May Allah save us from His curse! May Allah save us from failure! May Allah remove all the duniyawee (worldly) fear from our hearts! May fear reside in the hearts of Munkir alone! As Allah filled with haibat (fear) the hearts of the Mushrikeen-e-Makkah and those who fought against the small Muslim armies during Prophet (PBUH)'s life-time, may Allah fill the hearts of today's zalimoon (those who plan to hurt Muslims) with the same fear! May we not be counted among the zalimoon, by Allah! Who is not under scrutiny? If someone says he is not, because he is so and so ….. he is doing nothing more than fooling himself. In this satellite age, who is beyond the eyes of the perceived enemy? Perceived, yes. We firmly believe that nobody is a greater enemy of our community than we ourselves. We said: "Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. (Surah Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #38) O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill (your obligations to) My Covenant (with you) so that I fulfill (My Obligations to) your covenant (with Me), and fear none but Me. (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #40) And believe in what I have sent down (this Quran), confirming that which is with you, (the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)), and be not the first to disbelieve therein, and buy not with My Verses (the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) a small price (i.e. getting a small gain by selling My Verses), and fear Me and Me Alone. (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #41) Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #62) Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allah (i.e. follows Allahs Religion of Islamic Monotheism) and he is a Muhsin (good-doer i.e. performs good deeds totally for Allahs sake only without any show off or to gain praise or fame, etc., and in accordance with the Sunnah of Allahs Messenger Muhammad Peace be upon him ) then his reward is with his Lord (Allah), on such shall be no fear , nor shall they grieve. (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #112) And from wheresoever you start forth (for prayers), turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah), and wheresoever you are, turn your faces towards, it (when you pray) so that men may have no argument against you except those of them that are wrong-doers, so fear them not, but fear Me! - And so that I may complete My Blessings on you and that you may be guided. (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #150) Those
who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allah, and do not follow up their
gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is
with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #262) Above are some verses, you are already aware of (quoting just to reassure ourselves and to share with those who fear any entity other than Allah) - these are verses JUST from one Surah alone. Quran is full with assurances for us not to fear anyone other than Allah. Can we be among those scared few who unnecessarily erect a wall of excuses for not doing any service to humanity? Can a Muslim allow fear to creep into his heart and permit crippling of his mind, even after so many assurances from none-other-than Allah Himself? May Allah purify our neeyat (intentions) and strengthen our eiman (belief in Allah and His words that there is nothing to fear other than Allah)! And
whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a true
believer in the Oneness of Allah (Muslim), such will enter Paradise and not
the least injustice, even to the size of a Naqeera (speck on the back
of a datestone), will be done to them. When Allah alone is sufficient for us, why should we fear anyone (as long as we are not deviating from the righteous path)? Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)." (Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #173) Shall we fear Shaitan's auliya (awliya)? It is only Shaitan (Satan) that suggests to you the fear of his Auliya (supporters and friends (polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger, Muhammad SAW)), so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers. (Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #175). Are we true believers or not? May Allah guide us to the path of the believers and the righteous! Allah is with whom? ... ... And fear Allah, and know that Allah is with Al-Muttaqoon. (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #194) ... ... That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein, and fight against the Mushrikoon (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) collectively, as they fight against you collectively. But know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaqoon. [Soorah at-Taubah (9): 36] Surely! Allah is with those, who have Taqwaa (fear) of Him, and those who are the doers of good. [Soorah Ta-Ha (20): 46] "As for those who strive hard in Our Cause, We will surely guide them to Our Paths. And verily Allaah is with the Muhsinoon (good doers)" [al-'Ankaboot 29:69] When Allah is with us, can any worldly power cause any harm to us unless Allah wanted the harm for us? And if Allah wanted the harm for us, can any worldly power save us from the harm? So, what are we afraid of? Let's fear Allah and Allah alone. Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector)." And in Allah let the believers put their trust. [Surah # 9 (At-Taubah), Verse# 51]; He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper! [Surah #22 (Al-Hajj), Verse #78 || Surah #8 (Al-Anfal), Verse #40] May Allah strengthen our eiman! May He bless us with the strength to bear the compulsory test (29:2) that even the prophets were not spared! ------------------- Now, if anyone tries to scare you away from good deeds and the path of the righteous, knowing pretty well that Allah is with you, what is he/ she? Whom should we listen to? To these scare-mongerers or to Allah's words of assurances? Well, what should you tell these scare-mongerers? Say, "shut up. Do not act god. There is no god other than Allah, and He is sufficient for us. O, companion of shaitan, keep away from me." Now that we are able to shut the shaitan up, and throw away all of our fears (other than the fear of Allah), let's look at what good deed can bring us closer to Allah? Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day." (Sahih Bukhari, Book #64 , Hadith #265 ) Abi'l-Dunya narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "The most beloved of people to Allah is the one who brings most benefit to people, and the most beloved of deeds to Allah is making a Muslim happy, or relieving him of hardship, or paying off his debt, or warding off hunger from him. For me to go with my Muslim brother to meet his need is dearer to me than observing i'tikaaf in this mosque (Masjid-e-Nabwi) - for a month … whoever goes with his Muslim brother to meet his need, Allah will make him stand firm on the Day when all feet will slip (the day of judgment)." Reported by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa'l-Tarheeb, 2623. "Let there arise out of you A Group designed to carry out Allah's order in inviting people to what is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. And it is they who are The Successful." (Qur'an, 3:104) Keep striving, brothers and sisters! Let's be harbingers of compassion, empathy, mutual respect and peaceful co-existence. Let's be a true khalifa for the humanity (as commanded by Allah in – Surah Al-Baqra (2), Verse#143 and Surah Hajj (22), Verse#78). How can we be true khalifas without the characteristics of a khalifa? Shikwa-e-zulmat-e-shab
