Madania madarsa campus at Sabalpur, Patna - having a built-up area of 4,500
sq.ft. with a library on the ground floor. The madarsa is known as Jamia Madania, Sabalpur, Patna, was established in 1990 as a centre of education for the children rendered homeless by Bhagalpur riots. Maulana Qasim made a humble beginning by bringing 5 children from Bhagalpur who had lost all members of their family. Today, the madarsa is home for 662 students who are imparted quality learning by 30 teachers. The madarsa is now spread over 70 Katha of land, has 30 rooms. 10 non-academic staff members and 5 cooks help manage the centre. The madarsa teaches English and Maths up to 5th class. It is affiliated to Dar-ul-Uloom, Deoband, and has refused to take govt funds so that it could maintain its quality of education. Well, the management is pragmatic. Maulana Qasim immediately agreed to work with Bihar Anjuman (or any organization that aligns with the concept) towards imparting conventional education to the madarsa students so that some of them could be able to take the 10th board exams of CBSE/ ICSE/Bihar Board. He didn't seem to be convinced about utilizing Govt funds fearing loss of control to the govt agencies. But, he is ready to work as a local centre for all the Anjuman's activities like anti-dowry movement and award of scholarship (talent search schemes), coaching centre for Engg and Medical entrance exams. They already have a craft-training centre (sewing etc.) and are ready to enhance it to become a full fledged Industrial training institute.
A computer has been delivered to the Jamia. This computer will be the beginning of BANEE educational project to establish a model school at this institution, and will intiate our long-term tie-up, Insha-Allah.
The madarsa currently spends Rs. 5,000 annually on each resident student which includes fooding and clothing (no fees are charged, no accommodation charges are involved). I take this opportunity to urge you all to sponsor as many students as possible by paying Rs. 5,000 per student, directly to the institution. Please come forward and express your desire to support (a) current educational system, by sponsoring the students (Rs. 5,000 per year), and (b) sponsoring a science teacher for initiating the science curriculum in some of the classes to start with. Brothers and sisters, if you wish to participate in this opportunity to earn sawab-e-jaariya, please contact the owner-manager of this madarsa, Maulana Qassim, on his mobile +91-9431011919. |
![]() The poor students who generally feel neglected by the society must get a chance to become engineers, doctors and technicians as well. There is no intention in Anjuman's edication project to dilute the Islamic education at all. The concept attempts at giving a chance to some of the madarsa students who perform better in conventional (science, to start with) subjects to make it possible to pass the 10th board exam. They still continue to get Islamic education, although these students taken into the conventional stream - who will be just a small proportion of the total student population - will take only one or two Islamic subjects, so that when they move away from the madarsa to specialize in conventional areas they have a strong Islamic background (foundation). Maulan Qassim has agreed with the concept and is ready for assistance from any quarters that don't force dilution in the quality of the institution.
