“If you have no shame, do whatever you like”!

...  By Muqeet

Early to rise
We human beings have come through different ages in history: Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age. Historians tell us that these ages are distinguished by the development of technology.
Today technology has reduced women to a mere tool in the hands of men!
It would be appropriate to call the contemporary age, the 21st century, as “the obscene age”!
This is an era where nudity is riding the crest of the society.
Today world has reached such a stage in obscenity that if you were to talk about moral aspects, man-of-the-obscene-age will look at you in a curious way as if doubting your very masculinity!
Modesty, shame, honour, bashfulness which Islam calls as hayaa is lost.
There is NO SENSE of shame whatsoever!
How true was our glorious Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam when he said ‘If you have no shame, then do whatever you like’! (Read the full hadeeth here)
Nudity is promoted through movies, through cartoon shows, through print media, televisions channels and even through the so-called cricket in the name of IPL !
The best job is done by the advertising media in spreading obscenity and vulgarity among people.
It is so embarrassing to sit and watch even a News Broadcast with one’s family. You come across a dozen commercial breaks that are fully loaded with obscenity!
I dare to ask the Deodorant companies and advertisement agencies, are your mothers dead? Do you ever have daughters? Will you strip your sisters and make them run behind a man using your own deodorant brand?
What is the purpose of a deodorant? To attract 100 girls!
What message you are conveying through such advertisements?
You want to sell the product. Sell! Why the hell are you creating such filthy advertisements?
The Television channels have no manners whatsoever. They simply shift the ball to the Advertising Standard Council. They have approved, so we are telecasting!
Have you mortgaged your brain in the Bank of Obscenity Unlimited? Nay! materialism has made you worse than animals. For, some animals do not mate in public!!
The meat of the matter is whether it is government or television channels or advertising media – all have their own definition of obscenity.
For them a girl ‘dressed’ in just half-a-meter cloth is not nudity! It is progress! It is liberation! They are happy that they have freed women of the burden of dress!
Man has gone so far in shamelessness that today modesty is considered as a sign of backwardness!
People are upset at Muslim woman dressed in hijab because she curtails their freedom of gazing!
Man must understand the natural laws of Islam. The only alternative to help create a peaceful world.
Let me refer to this widely mentioned reference:
Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkul Karman,” ‘The mother of Yemen’s revolution,’ when asked about her Hijab by journalists and how it is not proportionate with her level of intellect and education, replied:
“Man in early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is a regression back to the ancient times.” Source
Man must submit to the Guidance of his Creator. Man must go back to Modesty, his natural root.

“Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing”. (Surah al Baqarah 2: 268)
Jazakallahu Khayra for reading this post.

A Fabulous Narration about Taqwa... Toubah and Pardon

From “Beyond Education” collection – Nissar Nadiadwala’s Editorial for Young Muslims

modesty

I have heard this narration from Shaikh Zafrul Hasan Madni who quoted from Sahih Abu Dawood. My Madni scholar and close friend Shaikh Abdul Basit confirmed the Hadith to be Sahih Hadith no. is 4379 from Sahih Abu Dawood.

It was a dark morning in Madinah. A woman was returning after offering fajr salah. Suddenly a man sprang upon her and raped her. The woman screamed for help. A man heard her cry and ran to help her. But the rapist fled. The man who came for her help chased the rapist to catch him. Meanwhile a group of Muslims, upon hearing the cry of the woman, too reached there. They heard from her about the incident and they too ran in the search of the rapist. But an unusual thing happened. Instead of catching the rapist they caught the man who was looking for the rapist. The man plead that he was too like them trying to locate the hidden rapist. So they brought him to the woman for verification. The poor woman had not seen her rapist but out of shock she exclaimed, "Yes this is the man!" It was dark when the incident took place but the woman testified that this was the man. The man pleaded that he was not but the people insisted that criminals always refuse to accept their crime.

The matter was presented before the Messenger of Allah. He asked the man if he had committed the crime, he pleaded innocence again. The woman was firm that the same man was the rapist.  The man had only one hope, Allah. There was no revelation from Allah to announce his innocence. The Prophet (pbuh) ordered death penalty for the rapist, stoning to death.

The man was taken to the place of rajm. All preparations were made for the death penalty. A pit was dug and stones were collected. The crowd waited for the order to stone. And suddenly a man tearing the crowd came forward shouting, "Leave him! Leave him!" He ran towards the man and stopped the death penalty. "I am the guilty. Leave this man and punish me in his place," he insisted. The people were shocked. They inquired from the person if he was really speaking the truth and knew the consequences of his statement. He said "I fear Allah."

The matter was again taken to the Prophet (pbuh). He heard the man who pleaded guilty. The man said, "I committed the crime and got away with it. The woman could not recognise me. The people could not catch me. Even the Prophet (pbuh) did not know that I was the guilty. But Allah knew it. I wondered why Allah not uncovered my crime. Then I caused another crime, letting another man to be punished to death for my crime. My heart pinched me and I said to myself, "I can escape from the punishment in this world but will I be able to deceive Allah or hide my crime from Him? My Taqwa grew stronger and I surrendered myself to the jury. Please leave that man because he is innocent and punish me instead for my crime"

The Prophet (pbuh) ordered the innocent man to be freed and then he ordered that this man should also be freed and not punished! The people were shocked as my readers too may be feeling the shock. The Prophet (pbuh) said, "This man has repented in such a manner that Allah has forgiven him." His Taqwa did not allow an innocent man to be punished for his crime and so he surrendered in spite of knowing that death awaited him.

Moral of the Narration? The man who was innocent put his trust in Allah and Allah assures: Allah will find out ways for him who fears Allah. Surah Talaq chapter 65 verse 3.

The man who was guilty repented so severely and surrendered out of fear of Allah, ready to die in this world so that he may escape the punishment of  Allah on the day of Qiyamah. Allah accepted his apology and as He declares in Surah Baqarah, verse 284: Allah forgives whomever He wills and Punishes whomever He wills...

But did my readers consider this? The name of the man who committed the crime, the woman who suffered and the innocent who was arrested by mistake, are not narrated in any book by any narrator. They remain unnamed. Though many people were present during the preparation of rajm and when the real guilty surrendered, no one narrated their names. The honour of a Muslim is very precious. If only today, even after 1400 years, we can revive that honour ...
