"Disappointments are like road humps they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards. Don’t stay on the bumps too long. Just move on".

Allah tells us, “I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed,” (Hadith Qudsi, Bukhari)

“… Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him – those are the party of Allah. Unquestionably, the party of Allah – they are the successful.” (Qur`an 58:22)                  top

Brian G. Dyson, former president and CEO of Coca-Cola Enterprises, said, “Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air namely—work, family, health, friends and spirit. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls—family, health, friends, and spirit— are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.”    top
The concept of work–life balance (WLB) is not new. With the changing pace of life and increase in stress levels, negatively affecting the quality of work, has made many organizations think about the strategies for maintaining a WLB. Experts say that there is a strong link between WLB policies and reduced absenteeism, increased productivity, and job satisfaction. Other benefits include improved recruitment and retention rates with associated cost savings, a reduction in employee stress, greater levels of job satisfaction, and loyalty and an improved corporate image.

Industries have started realizing the importance of WLB. Organizations are setting up policies for maintaining a work–life balance. They are going in for innovative methods to keep their employees happy and satisfied, as it makes office a better place for them to work and also positively impact productivity. The fundamental principle of designing activities around the topic of work-life balance is that work should be a part of your life.

Companies are ready to do everything possible to keep their employees happy and are pampering them like never before with new policies like flexi-timings, day care centers for kids, extended maternity leave, health care centers, medical insurance, fun and games at work, team outing, spas and gyms at office etc.   top
In Adobe, offices are closed for five working days, from Christmas to New Year, so that employees can take time off, without worrying about their time off affecting their deadlines. Directi, a Web products company, offers salon services and subsidized gym packages to its employees to allow them to take care of their health as well as appearance while they are at work. They also encourage their employees to start and operate their own interest groups including salsa workshops, treks, games, movies, and many other activities. Intel has a work life effectiveness manager and staff, responsible for looking at WLB issues by examining the market and surveying employees about ideas and opportunities in this arena. The team provides support in four key work life areas: flexibility, telecommuting, employee development, and conveniences/services.
