Quick Update on Bihar Anjuman’s Activities

1. Voting launched on “Which Coaching Centre is YOUR favourite”: On 25th June, a poll was launched to assess the likeness of Bihar Anjuman’s members for any specific centre out of the seven. The criteria have been left open, but it is expected that the voting would be done as per the centre’s performance. Cast your vote @ http://bit.ly/ap8haU

2. First Teachers Training Program announced by RAHBAR Coaching Centre, Patna:
Date: 4th July 2010 (Sunday), Venue: Najam Foundation, Phulwarisharif, Patna
First session: 9 AM To 1 PM ||  Second session: 2 PM To 5 PM
Prayer (Zohar) & Lunch Break: 1 PM To 2 PM

Teachers Training Program to be arranged at all coaching centres: Mullick Habib Ghufran Sb has kindly consented to facilitate the training program at all the coaching centres, and this will be coordinated by Patna chapter.

RAHBAR Coaching centre, Patna, enters a new phase of guiding the students towards a career: What’s the future of the 100% pass-outs of 10th Board BSSEB exam? After awarding all the passed-out students, in a special function organized on 25th June 2010, special counseling sessions were arranged for all the passing students to help them choose and pursue their future career. The majority of the students have no means to pursue their careers. Janab Manzurul Haque Sb, retired Judge Attorney General, NSG and Janab Shoaib Khan Sb, IPS, retired DIG, along with Janab Enam Khan Sb and his team of Patna chapter counseled the students and their guardians for more than a week. They were provided forms for entrance exams to Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU)'s polytechnics at Darbhanga, Bangalore and Hyderabad, were helped in completing the form, and submitting the same in the MANUU’s regional headquarter in Darbhanga. Special coaching has been arranged for these students to be able to write the exam in Urdu. Dr. Imran Ahmad, the assistant Director of MANUU’s Darbhanga HQ, guided the team and helped them in completing and submitting the application forms as well as in arranging the coaching classes. Jawed Ahmad, the secretary of RAHBAR (Bihar Anjuman’s registered NGO) bought the required Urdu medium science books from Delhi, and sent them by courier to Patna. The girl students have been advised to take admission in the paramedical courses at Imarat’s technical institute, and Imarat Sharia has promised to guide them through this process. 10th Awards ceremony was conducted by the Patna coaching centre on 25th June 2010, in which 18 students received awards in 3 categories. Patna centre remains at the top among all centres, in terms of activities, and local participation. Is it time to establish a coaching centre for engineering entrance exams?

4.  7,144 members, @ Bihar Anjuman’s Yahoogroup, the lifeline of the community, on 29th June 2010, in comparison with 6, 832 members a month back – 312 new members in a month, alhamdolillah. During the same period of previous month, 225 new members had joined. 9. RAHBAR Coaching project, Rafiganj, Aurangabad [Centre # 4, conducted their 1st monthly awards ceremony on the 5th June 2010. View the details @ http://aurangabad.biharanjuman.org/. Six students, two each from the classes of 8th, 9th, and 10th, received the awards for best performance in the month of May 2010.

For their first month of operation (April), the centre also rewarded, at the same function, six students for best performance in the month of April 2010. While highest score in April was 76%, this increased encouragingly to 81%, showing the right trend, alhamdolillah.


5. 2nd Pahse of "Coaching school students to stop drop-out" launched: RAHBAR Coaching Centre, Jamshedpur becomes the 1st centre of 2nd phase, inauguration on 11th July. View details of this centre at http://jamshedpur.biharanjuman.org/

6.  Madarsa RAHBAR-e-Banat (madarsa cum school for holistic education of GIRLS only), operational since 1st December 2009, offers FREE education to 125 poor girls, with 3 teachers, operational since 1st December 2009, offers FREE education to 125 poor girls, with 3 teachers: Building construction work started in 1st week of May, and construction work upto plinth level got completed, on 10th June 2010, for its 3 storeyed hostel building, designed by a professional gulf-based engineer. The hostel building has been so designed that it can serve the dual purpose of class-rooms as well as hostel, until we can construct separate class-room buildings, for which design is ready [available on the website]. This project is in urgent need of funds for construction as well as for operation (new teachers, and their salary being the main cost, currently).

7.  100% result in Bihar 10th Board Exam by RAHBAR Coaching centre, Darbhanga students: [http://darbhanga.biharanjuman.org/] What’s their future?  … The management committee of this centre has helped all the students, as in the case of Patna centre, to complete the process of applying to the MANUU’s polytechnics. They got special assistance from the principal of MANUU’s Darbhanga polytechnic who guided them directly, and arranging coaching for these students. Arranging the finances for the future career-pursuits of these students remains a big challenge.                                                                       top
RAHBAR Coaching Centre Darbhanga: Awards Ceremony, 13th June 2010
In the meantime, the 10th passed-out students (10 numbers) were awarded in the 3rd Monthly Awards Ceremony which was conducted on 13-06-2010 [for the best performers in the month of May 2010]. Four students each from Grade-9, Grade-9, and Grade-10 (current bacthes), i.e., total 12 students received awards on this occasion.

8. BAJEE (Bihar Anjuman’s Jewels for Educational & economic Empowerment), the ladies wing of Bihar Anjuman: BAJEE Centre, Patna organized a certificate distribution Function on 7th June 2010. Twenty-two (22) successful students of 2009-2010 batch were presented with tailoring certificates issued by BAJEE. Six (6) of these were non-Muslims (Hindus) belonging to poor families.
The certificates were handed out to students by Mrs Pratibha Sinha who is the co-chairman of "Shoshit Samadhan Kendra", which is working for the upliftment of poorest musahars and has established a residential school which looks after BAJEE logo
all needs of these students including free medical treatment for diseases like leprosy (very common in this community). On this occasion, Mrs Sadia spoke on the topic "importance of social work in Islam, and how our dear prophet (saw) helped others throughout his life". 10.  RAHBAR Coaching project, Chakradharpur, Jharkhand, Centre # 5, after commencing classes on the 5th April 2010, conducted their 2nd awards ceremony on 7th June and rewarded twelve students with cash prize, 4 each from the classes of 8th, 9th, and 10th [http://chakradharpur.biharanjuman.org/].

11.   RAHBAR Coaching Centre, Muzaffarpur [Centre # 6, http://muzaffarpur.biharanjuman.org/] got inaugurated on the 28th June 2010 @ Hazrat Ali (R.A.) Academy, Chandwara, and the classes started with 75 students, the same day. Some changes have been made in the management committee, as Shahid Amin, the final year MIT student, who was the architect of this centre, has left Muzaffarpur after completing his course.
