(A) IDENTIFY YOURSELF IN EVERY MESSAGE YOU SEND: The group members would like to know the person sending a message. Please mention your name, your current location, your native (optional), your contact number (optional) at the end of each of your message to the group. The best and the easiest way is to add this info in your "signature".

In Yahoo!, you need to click on Options, then click on Signature

Gmail Users

In Yahoo!, you need to click on "Settings", then fill the information in the "Signature" area.

Hotmail Users

Similar options must be available in any email service you use

(B) Message Content: (i) No political emails: Please post only non-political messages about Bihar or Jharkhand, and Muslims. Don't use this forum for campaigning in favour or against any political party, Muslim-hater group or sectarian Islamic group.

(ii) Islamic Emails: Remember, this is not an Islamic group, but a group of Muslims engaged in developmental activities related to people from Bihar and Jharkhand. Links to most of the Islamic Groups are available in the Useful Links area of this website. Therefore, only limited number of messages (2 to 3) are allowed to circulate in a day. More than one Islamic message per day will not be approved.

(C) Subject Lines/Threads: A message without a meaningful subject line is useless. Please make your subject clear enough for a person to decide whether to read it or not.  Replies to messages will repeat the subject line (thread) of the original message. If the subject starts to get off topic, please start a new thread so that browsers can really tell what the current discussions are about.

(D) Message Replies (remove unnecessary content while "forwarding" a message): When replying to a message, it may not be necessary to include the previous message chain, therefore, please delete irrelevant text before sending. This saves disk-space for all members.

(E) Commercial messages: Only members who can directly benefit from such a message (a business person from Bihar or Jharkhand) may post commercial messages promoting his/ her business. Same business ad should not be posted more than two times per year, in the group. If you wish, you may contact us for placing an ad on this website. The group must be kept clean of advertising messages on behalf of others, spam, or commercial abuse.

(F) Authenticity of content of the message: We will reject articles quoting Quranic verses or Hadith without giving the exact reference that can be easily verified. Similarly, non-Islamic messages with claims/ data or research outcomes (even if they attempt to certify a Quranic verse or Hadith, or related to Islamic ethics) which don't have proper reference to the source. Quranic verses or Islamic values learnt from ahadith don't depend on any "proof".

(G) Large-sized attachments: Attachments of size more than 200 Kb will not be circulated. Kindly JUST provide the link of the website from where you downloaded the attachment. If it came as an email attachment, please use google search to locate the original website link.

(H) Repeat Messages: Please check if an email message has been circulated earlier. If you read messages from the group, you will have a fair idea. If you don't messages of others, and just forward whatever you get, you may be filling in the inboxes of others with repeat messages that have no value. It's not very difficult to verify if the message has been circulated earlier. Just check your inbox, or go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rahbarinternational/messages and search for messages using relevant key-words.

(I) Moderation: The messages are not generally moderated. Any moderation will not be for censorship of opinion, but to prevent spam, off topic postings, and improper behavior or language. Your opinions are important as long as they do not involve personal attacks against individuals. Similarly, we do not alloe attacks against groups, organizations or countries. Basically, praising of good deeds/ ideas/ plans/ actions/ strategies of others is allowed, criticism of others is not allowed. Your criticism of any group in this forum will carry no value at all because it will never reach the intended party. It may be useful if you do so, within the concerned group itself.

(J) Language/attitude: Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: The Prophet never used bad language neither a "Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character." (See Hadith No. 56 (B) Vol. 8)  (Book #56, Hadith #759)
Please keep language in all messages, files, links, etc. at an acceptable level.

Narrated 'Aisha: A man asked permission to enter upon Allah's Apostle. The Prophet said, "Admit him. What an evil brother of his people or a son of his people." But when the man entered, the Prophet spoke to him in a very polite manner. (And when that person left) I said, "O Allah's Apostle! You had said what you had said, yet you spoke to him in a very polite manner?" The Prophet said, "O 'Aisha! The worst people are those whom the people desert or leave in order to save themselves from their dirty language or from their transgression."  (Book #73, Hadith #80)

(K) Banning Members:
Members are not banned from the group unless they violate rules or basic ethics of interaction. If you have a complaint about anyone, send an email to rahbarinternational-owner@yahoogroups.com with details related to it. A member will be generally warned before banning unless the violation is severe. Group moderators reserve their right to ban any member from the group.

(L) links: Links, that may be useful for members, should be posted on the links page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rahbarinternational/links.

(M) Yahoo! Group Rules: All messages and activities must comply with the rules of Yahoo! Groups available at http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/. Please do go through them to make sure that these are not violated at any time.

(N) Personal Message by Male members to Female members: Please make sure that no personal messages [any message sent to a personal email ID is construed as personal message whether directly or indirectly (copying the message to her ID while writing to the group or someone else>> using cc field)] are sent to any ghair-mahram female member at any time. Remember, this is not a friendship or dating website.

Made lawful to you this day are AtTayyibat (all kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith (i.e. His (Allahs), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and AlQadar (Divine Preordainments)), then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.
(Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #5, Translation by Mohsin Khan)

Female members are allowed to participate in discussions with the sole view of utilizing talents, skills and knowledge of the whole Ummah. Most importantly, Islam prohibits friendship between opposite sexes unless they enter into marriage.

(O) Personal Messages of any kind: Please make sure that no personal messages are sent to the group email ID. If your message carries value for JUST one person, let it go to the personal email ID of that person alone. Don't make it public, unless it carries SOME value of all the members. CVs sent against a job-ad would be treated likewise. General "searching for job" mails with attached CVs may be approved until we have an alternative system for handling them better.

Let's focus more of the group energy on inviting people to join hands, contribute in any way they can and do some constructive work on the ground rather than on debating things on which we have no control. We cannot change a political system nor are we capable of changing another group's mindset, but we can of course help our community by circulating jobs, providing career-guidance, paying scholarship to a needy student, sponsoring a teacher who can produce meritorious students in large numbers, try to get rid of poverty, etc.

Apne hissey ki koi shamm'a jalaate jaatey.

Muslims have to be Moderates only, nothing else.

Thus We have made you [Muslims] a Wasat (moderate or "Golden Mean") nation, that you be witnesses over the mankind and the Messenger Muhammad be a witness over you. ... (Quran: Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 143)

"He who killed any person, unless it be a person guilty of manslaughter, or of spreading chaos in the land, should be looked upon as though he had slain all mankind, and he who saved one life should be regarded as though he had saved the lives of all mankind." [Quran, 5:32]
